The finely woven, natural-coloured, very tightly knitted mitten is made of unbleached cotton which has water repellent characteristics. Due to the natural fibre, the material has hypoallergenic features and a high skin tolerance. The mitten serves as self-protection of the newborn baby or the infant in the case of strong itching of the body. The mitten prevents the child from additionally damaging its skin by scratching. In the case of dermatological diseases at the hands the mitten serves as cover over ointment bandages or other forms of therapy. For the fixation at the wrist the mitten has a finely knitted band sewn-on.
